There was a moment in graduate school that stayed with me long after the class ended.
We were talking about bias and how the way we’re raised shapes what we believe about the world and about other people. Everyone began sharing their experiences. Some had grown up deeply rooted in one tradition. Others had no connection to religion at all.
One student shared something that shifted something in me.
She talked about how, in her church, they explored a different religion each week. Sometimes, leaders from those traditions would come and speak. There was curiosity. There was openness. There was respect.
It was very different from my own experience.
I grew up in a space where other beliefs were often misunderstood or judged. There was more fear than curiosity. More separation than connection.
But what she described felt different. It felt expansive. It felt right.
That moment stayed with me.
Years later, when I became a mother, I found myself thinking about that conversation again.
I knew I wanted something different for my son.
I wanted him to understand that there are many ways people make meaning of the world. Many ways people connect to something greater than themselves. Many ways people try to live with kindness, purpose, and care for others.
I wanted him to grow up with curiosity instead of fear. Respect instead of judgment. Connection instead of separation.
When I couldn’t find a space that offered that, I created one.
That’s where The Circle We Share began.
My work, both as a licensed counselor and a shamanic healer, has always centered on one thing:
connection.
Connection to yourself.
Connection to your family.
Connection to the natural world.
Connection to something deeper than what we can always explain.
Over time, I’ve seen how much we struggle when that connection feels lost and how powerful it is when it’s restored.
Not in a complicated way.
Not in a perfect way.
Just in small, honest, everyday moments.
This space is an extension of that work.
A place to slow down a little.
To come back to what matters.
To explore different ways of seeing the world without needing to choose just one.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You just have to be willing to come back to yourself, again and again.
If you’re here, you’re probably looking for something more grounded. More connected. More real.
You’re in the right place.
